about me...

"Imagine that you are creating a fabric of human destiny with the object of making men happy in the end, giving them peace and rest at last, but that it was essential and inevitable to torture to death only one tiny creature - that baby beating its breast with its fist, for instance - and to found that edifice on its unavenged tears, would you consent to be the architect on those conditions? Tell me, and tell the truth."

"No, I wouldn't consent," said Alyosha softly

F. M. Dostoevsky: The Brothers Karamazov

I moved to Munich in 2002 and started to study philosophy one year later. During the first years of my studies I was interested in the problem of theodicy: On the one hand let's assume there is an absolute being which is good and has all the power in the world. On the other hand we know that there is evil in the world. Both statements can not be true at the same time. Analyzing the works of F. M. Dostoevsky and the Russian philosopher S. L. Frank, I earned deep insights about that problem. Both stress that only the assumption of human free will in a libertarian sense can get you out of that dilemma. So I started to examine the possibility of free will in a world that seems to be completely determined by physical laws. Panpsychistic ontology seems to open up a leeway for free will. At the moment I am working on a panpsychistic model of free choice.
